A NAIL-BITING FINISH TO THE YEAR AT ALMOND VALLEY
Seven year old Lindie Taylor from Edinburgh enjoyed a New Year’s Eve surprise when she visited Almond Valley Heritage Centre in Livingston with her family.
As the centre’s 100,000th visitor of 2008, she and her family received an annual season ticket to Almond Valley; personally presented by Ralf the goat.
“This is the first time in our history that we’ve welcomed over 100,000 visitors in the course of one year”, beamed centre director Robin Chesters, “but we had to wait until the last day of the last month to achieve this; it was a real nail-biting finish”.
Almond Valley is West Lothian’s most popular visitor attraction and received a boost earlier this year with the opening of a new soft play area and other new features. “It’s great to see so many new visitors, even in these difficult financial times” said Robin, “and we’re finding a particular increase in the number of families taking out annual memberships which offer an economical way of enjoying unlimited access throughout the year.”
