Themes emerge as National Strategy roadshows reach half way mark

< Back to news listing

The first three in a series of six roadshow events for the museums and galleries sector to discuss the development of the National Strategy Delivery Plan have started to paint a picture of sector views, expectations and challenges for the future. Emerging themes focus on the sector’s needs, including continued support through standards’, access to investment, skills sharing, development and training. Partnerships, collaborative working and networking opportunities were also topics for discussion.

Some of the roadshow participants have shared their thoughts about the day, the development of the National Development Body and delivery plan and the challenges they face – watch the video clips here .

The roadshows have had a good uptake so far, but MGS is keen to gather as much information as possible from the sector to enable us to shape the Delivery Plan and our services, including investment, around the sector’s needs. To ensure you have a say in the Delivery Plan priorities for museums and galleries, sign up for a roadshow event. The three remaining roadshows in Inverness (28 August), Edinburgh (4 September) and Glasgow (11 September) are approaching full capacity so book your place now on the Roadshow events page . Additional events may be scheduled should demand require.

Unable to attend an event?

If you are unable to attend an event it is still really important that you tell us your views so that they might be included in the Delivery Plan priorities for the sector and for investment – download and complete a questionnaire and return to strategy@museumsgalleriesscotland.org.uk
