
Museums Galleries Scotland held its AGM on Friday 18th March and had a tremendous turnout, with 73 members in attendance. Before the business of the AGM Joanne Orr, CEO laid out a review of the last year as well as more recent developments. Fiona Ballantyne, Chair outlined preliminary details of the national strategy for Scotland’s museums and galleries. The Scottish Government, Museums Galleries Scotland and strategic partners National Museums Scotland, National Galleries of Scotland and Glasgow Life have identified the overarching themes for developing a national strategy. Members also agreed in principle that Museums Galleries Scotland should start the work needed to become a new National Development Body for Scotland’s museums.
