MGS AGM 2010
In the historic setting of Stirling, 80 Museums Galleries Scotland member delegates gathered in the Albert Halls to take part in an equally historic AGM, with attendance rising 25% on the previous year. First members were treated to a hearty breakfast to ward off the cold February air and then the real business of the day got underway.

- First up was Adrian Babbidge who gave a fascinating presentation, entitled 'Changing Times, Changing People’ which explored the impact of generational change on museum and heritage organisations. A copy of the presentation is available to download to the right of this page. To see a copy of Adrian’s research study commissioned by the Association of Independent Museums (AIM) please use the following link Volunteering in Independent Museums
Overall 52% of delegates rated the day as 5 out of 5!
- Members then discussed challenges and opportunities facing the sector. MGS will produce a report for submission to the Minister for Culture and External Affairs and members of the Scottish Government led Think Tank. If you want to find out more about the work of the Think Tank or have any suggestions or ideas go to the Think Tank pages on the Scottish Government website.
- The formal business of the AGM was then undertaken by Chair, Fiona Ballantyne. The minutes are available to the right of this page.
