Grants
Museums Galleries Scotland has commissioned DC Research to carry out a review of its current grant programmes. The review will make recommendations on the future delivery and development of the grant programmes and is designed to ensure that future funding options are appropriate and relevant to the museum sector’s needs, and that the correct processes are in place to support successful delivery.
Announcements about changes to the programmes resulting from the review will be made in summer 2012. However, we can now confirm that we will be running Small Grant scheme in 2012/13 with a closing date for the first round at the end of April 2012. We have no dedicated fundraising or sponsorship staff at Museums Galleries Scotland. However, we do have some information on alternative sources for funding in the Other funding section of this site, which you may find useful. Also, the SCVO website is a very rich source of information on fundraising and sponsorship with resources covering types and sources of funding, trading and general advice on the subject.
