Museums Galleries Scotland has commissioned DC Research to carry out a review of its current grant programmes. The review will make recommendations on the future delivery and development of MGS’s grant programmes and is designed to ensure that future funding options are appropriate and relevant to the museums sector’s needs, and the that correct processes are in place to support successful delivery.
This section of the website provides information and advice on the current range of grants Museums Galleries Scotland makes available to full members, including criteria, our priorities, closing dates and application material. We are currently accepting applications for the 2012/13 main grants scheme (with a closing date of 2 February 2012)and will make an announcement about the future of the small grants scheme in February 2012.

We have no dedicated fundraising or sponsorship staff at Museums Galleries Scotland. Also, the SCVO website is a very rich source of information on fundraising and sponsorship with resources covering types and sources of funding, trading and general advice on the subject.
