Collections Research and Travel Bursaries
Since 2007-08, MGS have provided collections research and travel bursaries to curators and collections managers (honorary and paid) in our full member museums who are interested in developing their skills and increasing their knowledge of a collection in their care.
In the past awards have enabled museum staff to spend time with collections specialists, visit other museums and sites (in the UK and internationally), undertake residential study courses and attend conferences, and research other collections in order to share expertise or improve access to their collections.
The deadline for applications for 2010-11 has now passed, but the guidelines and application form for 2011-12 will be available here early next year. In the meantime, to find out more or to discuss your ideas for collections research please feel free to contact our Collections Development Manager.
