The Collections Trust is the UK's lead organisation on documentation and information management for museums, Collections Trust services are designed to support practitioners in making the most of their collections.

Creative Choices is the online service providing the tools, knowledge and networks to support the development of every individual and business in the creative industries and cultural sector. It supports users with a breadth of content, including short films, case studies and e-learning.

Creating Capacity for Museums, Libraries and Archives is managed by Hopkins Van Mil, an organisation with a social enterprise ethos supported by MLA and Renaissance London. Their courses are tailored to the needs of museums, libraries and archives and those working in them. Competitively priced and offering free post course online support their programme is excellent value for money.
Collections Management Network is a new UK training and advice consortium providing practical authoritative solutions for the museum and cultural sector.
This programme provides a selection of free workshops and aims to develop local curitorial confidence and to benefit users of Scotland's collections in the widest sense.
Skills Development Scotland is a non- departmental public body to enable people to fulfil their potential, make skills work for employers and be a catalyst for positive change. When Skills Development Scotland was launched in April 2008, it marked the start of a step change in the delivery of careers, skills and training services in Scotland.
Tourism Intelligence Scotland offers businesses the opportunity to access, share and understand a wealth of practical insights and intelligence all in one place. Opportunities for Growth guides are packed full of easy to use intelligence, best practice stories, recommendations and are free to download through the TIS website - all you need to do is register via the above link. The website has a lot of useful information and you will receive the TIS newsletter, and information about events and workshops.
Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce - Chamber Business Solutions - Training Zone has a wide range of helpful information and links and is well worth a look. You can sign up to their newsletter which is emailed through regularly and outlines training events, opportunities, support and funding. Their courses are approved for courses are approved for Skills Development Scotland and ILA funding
Museums Association do in fact run a number of CPD sessions in Edinburgh, particularly around the AMA
Volunteer Training Bank - Museum of London
The Volunteer Training Bank was developed as part of the Renaissance London programme and has been updated and moved to the Museum of London's website. The project provides a programme of free training for volunteers and the training materials are available to download for museums who want to run their own in-house training. The Bank contains a guide on how to run training for volunteers, and the training plans, PowerPoint presentations and handouts for six half day training courses, including:
