Alan Davie was born in Grangemouth in 1920 and studied at Edinburgh College of Art in the late 1930s. Consistently named as one of Scotland’s most prolific living artists, he is, for many, one of the most important British painters of the post-war decades. To celebrate Davie’s life and art as he approaches his 90th birthday, Falkirk Council presents an exhibition of his recent work at the Park Gallery in Callendar House.
