Our Collection

Royal Research Ship Discovery

The primary object is the historic vessel RRS Discovery, built in Dundee and the first ship built specifically for scientific research. It took Captain Scott to the Antarctic in 1901-1904 and took part in many other important expeditions. The related 'Discovery' collections include personalia relating to the ship's crew, archives, photographs, costume and scientific specimens.
