The School's Mackintosh Collection consists of some 300 objects (around 200 items of furniture and 100 works on paper) by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, the School's most celebrated alumnus. In addition, the School's non-Mackintosh Collection consists of over 2500 items, including almost 300 plaster casts (an archive of full size classical statuary and architectural fragments), plus drawings, paintings, prints, architectural studies, ceramics, sculpture, furniture, stained glass, textiles and metalwork, almost all of which are by former staff and students of the School. Aside from the plaster casts, the earliest pieces in the collection date back to the 1880s/1890s with the most recent acquisitions acquired from the annual student Degree Shows.
