Agriculture
This collection consists of uniquely Orcadian farming implements dating from the mid-16th century to the late 18th century, predating the agricultural improvements of the 19th century, when equipment and methods began to be standardised with the rest of Scotland. The traditional artefacts include Orkney-made tools, implements and utensils for ploughing and sowing, reaping and milling, stock-raising, food production, peat- cutting and transport.
