This collection covers the following areas: (1) Commerce and Retail, including a number of items of packaging and equipment; (2) Transport - a small number of items relating to local land and sea transport; (3) Medical related artefacts.
Community Life
This collection covers the following areas: (1) Civic and Local Government material relating to the Burgh of Largs; (2) Organisations and Leisure Activities, including items from local societies and groups, as well as political, cultural, religious movements and groups and sports clubs; (3) Warfare and Defence material relating to World Wars I and II.
Domestic Life
This collectione encompasses two specific areas: (1) Household Goods - a wide variety of items including pottery, stoneware, tableware, cutlery, cooking, cleaning and laundry items; (2) Photographs and Paintings of local scenes, buildings and people.
Personalia
This collection covers local costume, including Ayrshire Whitework, shawls, male, female and infant clothing and underwear. It also contains a variety of personal items such as toys, toilet goods, snuff boxes and personal ornaments.
Souvenirs
This collection consists of Mauchline Ware, examples of Treen, as well as tourist souvenirs sold locally and a collection of souvenir and commemorative china.
Local History
The museum holds a number of items, models and display boards illustrating the history of the district in the Roman and Mediavel periods as well as the Viking and Scottish-Norwegian relationship during the Battle of Largs. The collection also includes a number of items explaining the relationship which existed and still exists between Largs and Australia.
