McKechnie Institute

In Girvan town centre, the red sandstone building with its octagonal tower has been a local landmark since 1888. Following closure as a public library in 1975, it re-opened in 1982 as a local museum and Carrick Arts Centre – maintaining a year-round programme of exhibitions, concerts, lectures and meetings.
