Nairn Museum contains a comprehensive collection encompassing all aspects of Nairnshire life. There is a wide range of photographs covering subjects as diverse as education and local houses. A variety of displays reflect the rural nature of the area, with agricultural tools and household implements, whilst the Fishertown Room evokes memories of the fishing industry which was the mainstay of Nairn until the 1950s. The lives of Nairnshire’s adventurers and explorers are celebrated in the Victorian Room, with examples from the hundreds of items sent back to Nairn from all over the world. Children have their own area with books and quiz sheets, and there is a research room for people with family and local history enquiries.
