A 17th century Laird’s house where you can be sure of a warm welcome. The cosy kitchen with home bakes is where you meet the local people. The exhibitions try to cover all aspects of life on Yell.

Local History

This is a wide ranging collection which includes material relating to whaling, merchant service, crofting, shipwrecks and story tellers. There are some 1200 photographs in the associated archive.
