Fine Art

This collection comprises three main components: (1) 67 paintings, prints, drawings, collages and constructions, which were donated by Margaret Gardiner in1978 - many of the works are by the St Ives group of artists, and were executed during the period 1929-1963; (2) 23 works of art by artists already represented in the Gradiner Gift or work of the same genre or period, which were donated or purchased after 1978; (3) 5 works by artist who are not represented in the Gardiner Gift - this group includes artists who have Orkney connections and artists who have exhibited at the Pier Arts Centre.
