Scottish Football Museum helps launch Womens Football DVD

26th February 2009

The Scottish Football Museum is helped to launch a new DVD produced by Scottish Women’s Football.

The promotional DVD was launched at the Odean Cinema in Kilmarnock on 26th February 2009 and the museum recreated its Women’s Game exhibition for the foyer.

The film captures the passion and excitement of the women’s game, as it focuses on a young girl who dreams of emulating her Scotland heroes.

As well as showcasing the women’s game in Scotland, the film will also be used to encourage more young girls to take up the sport.

Sheila Begbie, Head of Girls’ and Women’s Football at the Scottish FA spoke at the premiere. She said: “This is a really exciting time for all of us involved in girls’ and women’s football in Scotland. The increase in the number of young girls playing, and in the numbers of clubs for girls and women provides us with a really positive future.

We are very proud of the achievement of our Women’s National Team, and feel that “Here Come the Girls” really captures the spirit of the women’s game. Hopefully it will encourage even more young girls to get involved in football.”
