MGS will be administering a collaborative project which will celebrate Scotland’s icons past and present by enabling artists to be inspired by museum collections, historic sites, and Scotland’s intangible cultural heritage (also known as living culture).
The project will allow artists to gain access to collections and sites, the expertise of curators and custodians, and to develop their practice inspired by this experience.
Part of the Year of Creative Scotland, the project will be funded by Creative Futures, a Creative Scotland programme of artists residencies and related activities. There is an initial £37.5k to be committed this financial year (ending March 2012) and £50k next year.
Proposals should be based on commitment to developing talent; commitment to learning, development and evaluation; commitment to equalities; commitment to and experience of excellent programme management; and strong and diverse partnerships and networks.
Expressions of interest with outline proposals should be sent to inform@museumsgalleriesscotland.org.uk by 9 December 2011.
