2011 is the first year of Museums Galleries Scotland’s Festival of Museums event. The purpose of the venue evaluation is to gauge how successful the various elements of the event were from the point of view of the venues who took part, and what learning can be applied to future events to improve upon the experience. The results from this first year will provide a benchmark for future Festival of Museum events.

The Festival of Museums took place over the weekend of Friday 13 to Sunday 15 of May 2011, with events occurring both during the day and in the evening.
