Applying for Recognition

Full members of Museums Galleries Scotland are eligible to apply for Recognition. For other criteria, visit the Criteria for applying page.

We hope that the application process is straightforward but do not underestimate the input that you and your staff will need to make. All the feedback we’ve received from both successful and unsuccessful applicants stresses the significant effort that went into gathering and ordering the evidence.  It also highlighted the value of the exercise in providing a body of information to inform future plans or grant applications.

You should initially indicate your interest in applying by completing a Note of Interest for a particular Round.  You will then be invited to an Applicant Workshop where practical advice on forming your application will be available.  The closing date for completed applications will be four months from the workshop.
