Digital

ICT can support every area of museum activity from managing collections to engaging with visitors.  We want to help our members to produce high quality digital products through advice, training and partnerships.

Within this section you'll find lots of resources on topics such as collections management, websites, evaluation and copyright.  We offer a digital advice service through the Collections Management Network for our members and digital access is a key objective of our partnership agreement with Collections Trust.

Our Digital Content Action Framework offers practical advice for members working with digital content.  you can use the link on the right to download it.

Collections are, of course, at the heart of the museum sector.  Across Scotland we're proud to say that our museums and galleries are producing diverse and inspiring content around their collections. You can find out more about creating, delivering, preserving and sharing content using the navigation to the left. The pages contain lots of information and links to resources that can assist you with your projects. However, If you would prefer to speak to somebody about your query, please feel free to contact our ICT Development Manager.

We offer training in ICT through our own training programme and in partnership with other organisations. Take a look at the training section for all currently available training opportunities.

If you're a full member looking for funding for a digital project, please see our grants pages to see how MGS can help.
