Sharing content

There is an ever-increasing demand for digital content from the cultural sector.  To fully participate, museums and galleries need to consider the potential offered by collaborative working within the sector and beyond.  To realise these opportunities we need to remove the barriers to interoperability.

To create content that can easily be repurposed and shared:

  • Work to current technical standards
  • Consider open source software to avoid being tied to a specific supplier or format
  • Clarify copyright and usage policy at acquisition stage
  • Consider partnership working to access additional skills including commercial partnerships

We participate in sector discussion within initiatives such as Digital Access Scotland and the Strategic Content Alliance, working towards interoperability across the cultural domain.
