The ultimate aim for all museums and galleries is to strive to the widen access to their collections by identifying, tackling and dismantle barriers to access that can be:

Physical and sensory impairment affecting people with disabilities, older people and for those with children in push-chairs

Intellectual which can be through inadequate display and interpretations of collections

Attitudinal/emotional which can be as result of museums not providing welcoming environment that makes their visitors to be valued

Cultural relating to collections, exhibitions and events which do not reflect or engage people from different background
