Cultural Co-ordinators and Creative Links Officers

Cultural Co-ordinators are a key link between schools and the heritage sector. Each local authority area has at least one Cultural Co-ordinator/Creative Link Officer who works with museums, galleries, or other arts organisations.

Many museums and galleries have a good relationship with their local Cultural Co-ordinator/Creative Link Officer and work closely with them on education projects. This provides an effective way to engage children and young people and the communities using collections to inspire learning, creativity and enjoyment. It also helps to raise awareness of your museum or gallery.

The Cultural Co-ordinators scheme is managed by the Scottish Arts Council and contact information for the Cultural Co-ordinators in your area can be found on the Scottish Arts Council website.

Museums Galleries Scotland encourage Cultural Co-ordinators to support the work of our members by working with them to develop grant-aided learning projects. For more information visit the Funding section of this site.

For further information, you can find on this page a report on how members have worked with Cultural Co-ordinators and schools to design innovative learning projects.
