Lieutenant Colonel Roger Binks FCIS

Lt Col Binks was Regimental Secretary, The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, based in Edinburgh Castle from 1996 to 2011. His remit in support of Scotland’s Cavalry Regiment included direction of the Regimental Museum and extensive financial management for charitable Trusts and the trading company; other responsibilities range from historical enquiries to official events and from recruitment to welfare. His military service from 1960s took him to most parts of the United Kingdom as well as Germany, Cyprus and Nepal. His later career concentrated on finance and administration, including advice to the Board of the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. He is a former Chairman of the Association of Scottish Military Museums and was elected to the Board in November 2004, becoming an advisor in 2011.

He is now Secretary to the Trustees of the Scottish National War Memorial, at Edinburgh Castle.
