Strategic Change Fund (SCF) - 2002
In August 2000, the (then) Scottish Executive set aside £3 million to assist with restructuring the museum sector over a three-year period. Museums Galleries Scotland (then the Scottish Museums Council) was asked to come up with criteria for distribution of over £1.5 million throughout the sector. We consulted with our members, and three themes were agreed:
- Building museum audiences
- Building capacity in museums
- Increasing access to collections
The Fund was launched in May 2002 and managed by us. Overall, there were 13 projects involving over 90 partners in total. The evaluation of the SCF can be downloaded from the right hand menu on this page.
