This online event will share approaches to participatory practice and remunerating participants who bring lived experience as expert knowledge.
National Museums Scotland aims to involve people who bring lived experience as expert knowledge. We value this work and we want to ensure participants are credited and recognised appropriately.
In this free online event, National Museums Scotland colleagues will share recently developed principles that guide our approach to participatory practice and remuneration.
We will also be joined by Kate Simpson, Trustee of David Livingstone Birthplace, who will share her valuable experiences and reflections on participatory practice and remuneration.
We will discuss:
- Participatory practice and remuneration approaches at National Museums Scotland and David Livingstone Birthplace
- Different modes of participation and options for remuneration
- Experiences, lessons learned and decisions that inform approaches
- Examples of participatory practice and remuneration.
This event is for people who work or volunteer in a museum, gallery, library or heritage organisation in Scotland and want to learn more about approaches to participatory practice and remuneration.
The event will be held online on Zoom and will run from 10:00 to 12:00.
