Scotland's Museums and Galleries Strategy Symposium 2025

Join us for an in-person and online event to discuss the progress of Scotland’s Museums & Galleries Strategy.

Event information

Date: 26th February

Time: 9am – 5pm

Organiser: Museums Galleries Scotland

Venue: Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, and online

Cost: Free

This event is open to all those who volunteer, work in, and collaborate with Scotland’s museums and galleries. It offers an excellent opportunity to learn about sector initiatives, engage with topical discussions, and network with colleagues.

Cabinet Secretary for the Constitution, External Affairs and Culture Angus Robertson MSP will deliver the opening address before a panel discussion with colleagues from the museum sector where they will explore shared challenges and opportunities for the future.

This will be followed by various panel sessions, knowledge-sharing opportunities, and workshops designed to provide inspiration and practical advice across the priority areas of the Strategy. We are thrilled to host a diverse range of engaging speakers from across the museum and wider heritage sectors.

The Collaboration Space will return, offering a chance to connect with a variety of organisations from across the culture and heritage sectors. The MGS team will also be there to meet with attendees and answer questions on how we can support your work and ambitions. Following the main sessions there will be further networking opportunities including tours of the venue’s exhibition space.

The full programme is available on the Symposium’s Eventbrite page.
