About the Event
Deaf children can do anything other children can do, given the right support from the start. Effective language and communication skills lie at the heart of their social, emotional and intellectual development.
This half-day workshop has been created to help mainstream early years practitioners to feel confident in supporting children with hearing loss in their setting. It will give you an understanding of what deafness is and explain some of its causes whilst exploring best practices when communicating with children with a hearing loss. You will have the opportunity to learn some basic signs and
explore how you can use books and rhymes to support children with hearing loss.
