John McLeish

John is Chief Executive at The Gordon Highlanders Museum in Aberdeen.  His career spans a wide range of industries with a CV that includes well-known names such as Lloyds TSB and FirstGroup. Having qualified as a Chartered Banker, he went on to specialise in the field of human resources, heading up HR functions in the banking, professional services, passenger transport and oil & gas sectors.

A Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development and The Chartered Management Institute, John has been Chair of The Scottish Tartans Authority since 2012 and is a member of The Scottish Register of Tartans Advisory Group as well as being a Director of the Braemar Highland Games Centre.  John is passionate about Scotland’s cultural heritage and for the year to February 2019 was Interim CEO at Museums Galleries Scotland.
