About the Role
We are looking for enthusiastic & friendly volunteers to support our volunteer run museum. We reopened in summer 2021 and would like to open more days a week. We cannot do this without some help. We are looking for volunteers who can regularly give us three hours of their time a week to be Welcome Hosts. This role is incredibly important to the museum as the Welcome Host is the first person that visitors meet and can reassure visitors that they can safely visit the museum in a Covid secure manner.
You’ll learn about the museum, meet new people, learn new skills and support our small independent museum.
You don’t need any experience as we will provide full training including Covid secure training in line with the museums risk assessment. Volunteers will be given a mentor who will provide support and advice.
The role would involve:
• Welcoming visitors and answering questions
• Opening/Closing the museum
• Operating the retail space
• Collecting information for Track and Trace purposes
• Cleaning the museum public areas
We are looking individuals who have:
• Good people skills
• Good listening skills
• Have an interest in Linlithgow's history
What we can offer:
Opportunities to gain new skills and meet new people. Provide references and plenty of tea and coffee!
