Lucy Casot

Chief Executive Officer
A light skinned person with short, cropped, curly grey hair, wearing a black blouse and a petrol blue blazer with her arms crossed over her chest

Lucy is the Chief Executive Officer at Museums Galleries Scotland, heading up the leadership team with overall responsibility for MGS activity. She joined MGS four years ago and has overseen a period of agile change as the organisation adapted to support the sector through Covid-19 and subsequent financial challenges. Lucy is passionate about collaborative working, internally and externally, always looking for opportunities to work in partnership with others, sharing expertise, ideas and resources both across the heritage and culture sector and beyond.

An archaeologist by training, prior to joining MGS Lucy spent 18 years with the National Lottery Heritage Fund where she had the privilege of supporting a myriad of projects of all sizes across Scotland’s heritage sector. This feeds her desire to ‘join the dots’, drawing inspiration from the fantastic work going on across Scotland’s heritage and culture.

Lucy never tires of visiting more museums and heritage sites and other interests include music (singing and fiddling), food discoveries, family and all things Italian (see food and family!).
