Museums Galleries Scotland developed the National Strategy, 'Going Further', in consultation with Scotland’s museums sector, and it was launched in March 2012. The compelling and inclusive shared vision has greater public value firmly at its heart.
Our Board helps provide support and direction to our organisation. They bring to our organisation a wide range of skills and experience in business, academia and the cultural sector.
‘Skills for Success’ helped Scotland's museum sector to address issues including a lack of diversity in the workforce; a lack of accessible entry and progression routes.
Take part in our national advocacy campaign on 16th May and tell us how #MuseumsSparkJoy for you.
Museums are an invaluable source of information on Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH), an important part of our cultural heritage which includes the traditions or living expressions of groups and communities.
