Join MGS and DC Research for a webinar exploring the findings of the 2026 Sector Survey.
Every two years, Museums Galleries Scotland (MGS) undertakes a sector survey to build a clearer picture of the health, experiences and priorities of museums and galleries across Scotland. The findings provide an important evidence base for understanding the sector, informing our work, and making the case for the investment and support museums need.
We invite colleagues from across Scotland’s museums, heritage and cultural sectors to join us for an online event sharing the findings of the 2026 MGS Sector Survey. The session will:
Present the key findings from the 2026 survey, exploring what the data tells us about the current state of Scotland’s museums and galleries.
Explore emerging trends and challenges, including the issues shaping the sector’s resilience, workforce, and future development.
Consider what the findings mean in practice, and how the evidence can inform support for museums and wider sector priorities.
The research findings will be presented by Dr Stephen Connolly from DC Research, followed by a panel discussion exploring what the evidence tells us and where further attention and action may be needed.
Please note this session will be recorded.
This meeting will be hosted on Zoom. Live captions will be available.
