Learn how to create opportunities for young people in heritage through skills strategies, work programmes, funding and engagement.
This free online session is for employers in the heritage sector (and other closely related sectors such as tourism, construction and the creative industries) who want to support young people to enter the workforce.
Join this session to hear from experts and build your own skills development toolkit. Hear from organisations including Historic Environment Scotland, Museums Galleries Scotland, and Developing the Young Workforce, and discover the resources , tools and advice available to you help young people develop skills and build career pathways. In this session you will:
- Visualise and plan a skills strategy for young people in your workplace, with Museums Galleries Scotland.
- Learn how you can embed skills development opportunities into grant applications with Historic Environment Scotland.
- Understand how you can engage with educators and young people through Developing the Young Workforce.
How the session will be run
The session will be held on Microsoft Teams. A link will be circulated to all attendees in advance of the event, and you can join via the app or your browser.
The first hour, from 10-11am, will include talks from all three organisations plus time for Q&A. The second hour, from 11am-12pm, will include three workshops delivered via online breakout rooms. Each workshop will run for 15 minutes, and attendees will get the chance to attend all virtual workshops during the session.
