This webinar is offered as part of the Museum Futures wraparound programme. The Museum Futures programme of essential support has been developed in direct response to the significant and ongoing financial and capacity challenges faced by the sector.
We are joined by Alice Samtoy, Corporate Partnerships lead for National Museums Scotland, for a practical introduction to corporate sponsorship and how it can work for your organisation.
For many museums, sponsorship can feel like unfamiliar territory. In this session, Alice will cut through the jargon to explain what sponsorship actually is (and what it isn’t), how it differs from other types of fundraising, and why it can be a valuable source of flexible income for organisations of all sizes.
Alice will walk through the practicalities of getting started: what you have to offer as a museum, the kinds of companies worth approaching, and a simple process for making your first move, from researching prospects to starting a conversation. She will share case studies from a range of organisations, and offer honest guidance on the challenges as well as the opportunities.
Alongside her work at National Museums Scotland, Alice is Director of Samtoy & Company, a fundraising and partnerships consultancy in Edinburgh. With 18 years of fundraising experience in the cultural sector, Alice has worked with some of the UK’s leading arts and cultural organisations, including BAFTA, the National Theatre, and the Edinburgh International Festival. She is a Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising and a regular trainer for Culture & Business Scotland.
Whether this is your first step into corporate fundraising or you’re looking to build on early experience, this session will give you the confidence and tools to make a start.
