This webinar is offered as part of the Museum Futures wraparound programme. The Museum Futures programme of essential support has been developed in direct response to the significant and ongoing financial and capacity challenges faced by the sector.
We are joined by Caroline Mathers, Director at The Stirling Smith Museum, to hear about the successes she has had, and the challenges she has faced, when running a museum café. Hear about the introduction of the new shop and how that has helped to increase café footfall.
We will also be joined on the call by Sue McVey who is a Business Development Manager at Food for Life Scotland. Soil Association Scotland work to support caterers in Scotland to move towards healthy and sustainable menus through various programmes, with a real focus on public sector food. Sue has over 20 years’ experience working in various sectors of the food industry in product development, education, sustainability, and nutrition. She is a passionate advocate of healthy and sustainable diets for all and enjoys helping others achieve this. She loves all aspects of good food from growing, cooking, eating and best of all sharing tasty food with others.
In this webinar, Sue will introduce Soil Association Scotland and it’s sustainable catering support to help caterers meet their organisations sustainability goals. She will highlight work currently happening in various sectors in Scotland, then focus on some great examples of museums and visitor attractions using Soil Association’s sustainable frameworks to create impact that supports the Scottish economy, health, environment and local communities.
