Reveal and Connect is a programme of collaborative projects relating to African and Caribbean collections held in museums across Scotland.
After publishing an initial collections review in 2024, we are now delighted to share findings from two legacy projects:
Reveal and Connect: Caribbean Natural Science Collections in Scottish Museums
Funded by the John Ellerman Foundation, this legacy project focussed on Caribbean natural science collections in Scottish museums through a national review and published report. The project fostered a network that connects collection holders with museums, scientists, and communities in the Caribbean, and people of Caribbean descent in Scotland.
Reveal and Connect: Participatory Practice and South African Collections in Scottish Museums
Funded by Museums Galleries Scotland, this project saw museums in Scotland and South Africa collaborate to develop scalable and transferable participatory practice methodologies. Iziko Museums of South Africa was a vital partner in this project, enabling the piloting of remote access between holders of South African collections and South African colleagues.
