Delivering Change Micro Grants
Delivering Change Micro Grants will provide small amounts of money to support museums to act on learning from their participation in the Delivering Change programme. This fund can support organisations to address an issue that is currently perpetuating systemic exclusion in their museum or to try something new that will embed anti-oppression principles in their museum.
The fund can support a variety of activity including external facilitation or training, creating interpretation, measures to improve accessibility, and renumerating people with experience of systemic exclusion for their time and knowledge.
If you are not sure if your idea would be suitable for this fund please email the Delivering Change team at DeliveringChange@museumsgalleriesscotland.org.uk
Who is eligible to apply?
This fund is open to any museum that has taken part in the Delivering Change programme either through:
- Museum Transformers
- Museum Activists
- Sustainable Co-Production Fund
Staff members or volunteers who took part in the Delivering Change programme must be directly involved in the development of the application proposal.
How much can I apply for?
Museums who have taken part in the Delivering Change programme can apply for grants of up to £3,000. You can apply for up to 100% of costs.
You must begin the funded activity within 3 months of the award date, and complete it within 6 months of your start date.
How to apply
All applications must be submitted through our online portal, MGS Online. A PDF of the application form is available in the Supporting Documents section below. This is for reference only and all applications must be submitted online.
Application Deadlines
Applications will be open until 5pm on 13th April. Awards will be announced on 13th May.
Our Assessment Criteria
We will assess applications according to:
- ability to make the museum a safer and more inclusive place for systemically excluded communities and/or improve access to culture for these communities
- the need and urgency of the request
- the ability to deliver the proposal
What this fund cannot support:
- Core operating costs
- Like for like replacements
- Costs incurred before the award date
We welcome financial contributions from applicant organisations and other sources where costs exceed £3,000. However, the purpose of this fund is to address small, discrete needs and opportunities rather than be used as a match funding for larger scale project activity.
