Christine McLean

Christine has over 25 years experience of museums and the cultural sector.  She was appointed Head of Cultural Heritage & Wellbeing with Fife Cultural Trust (OnFife) in May 2021 where she was responsible for collections, exhibitions and engagement, local studies and archives, and the adult library service across Fife.  Prior to joining OnFife, Christine led Museums and Heritage at Renfrewshire Leisure (now OneRen) and was a member of the Paisley Museum Re-Imagined capital project team.  Her role there included progressing public access to The Secret Collection museum store located in Paisley town centre.

Christine worked for 16 years at National Museums Scotland leading on outreach and engagement, setting up the Community Engagement team and securing over £1m in funding for special projects that focused on youth engagement or outreach partnerships across the sector.  Her commitment to community engagement began in a project post with Glasgow’s Open Museum, working in the Greater Pollok area and remains a key priority of her current post.  Christine managed Visitor Services at The Roman Baths Museum World Heritage site in Bath and has previously worked for over 10 years in arts, culture and theatre management.

Christine is also a Board Member for the Museums Association, serving on the Nations Committee.
