Jenny Youngson

Jenny is the Senior Museum Development Manager at Museums Galleries Scotland. She brings a passion for preserving our cultural heritage with a practical approach to supporting our museums to be inclusive, resilient, and sustainable.

Jenny joined MGS in 2012, following roles in collections management and logistics with local authority museums, she brings experience in collection’s care and management, museum standards, grant programming, and collaborative work, and a wealth of knowledge about the Scottish sector and the challenges they face. Jenny supports the Head of Museum Development in the management of the Museum Development team, directly managing team members delivering work in grants, standards and collections care and advice. She continues to have a passion for museum stores and decants. Her role allows her to visit many museums and see behind the scenes, a privilege she is delighted to have.

Jenny spends most her time outside work entertaining her wee boy and learning more about whatever topic has recently piqued his interest, currently superheroes and the emergency services.
