An adult with light skin, short brown hair, and a brown moustache. They have glasses, a nose ring, a white shirt, and a dark blue blazer.

Matthew started in museums in a front of house role while studying for a postgraduate degree. Matthew is currently the Chair of the subject specialist network STICK (Scottish Transport and Industry Collections Knowledge Network) helping to connect collections and their custodians, a Museum Association Representative for Scotland, and is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries Scotland.

Matthew’s previous roles have seen him focus on collections care and management and the oversight of several capital grants relating to collections interpretation, as well as advocating for the importance of Scotland’s industrial and transport collections and the living connections they have with Scots today.
