Matthew Bellhouse Moran
Vice Chair
Matthew is currently Executive Director of the Scottish Maritime Museum, which houses Scotland’s national maritime collection: a Recognised Collections of National Significance, including vessels, buildings, machinery, photographs and a large archive.
His previous roles include Executive Director of the Unicorn Preservation Society caring Scotland’s oldest ship, HMS Unicorn. Matthew led the Society successfully through Accreditation, major organisational change, and the development of plans to preserve the ship long term through Project Safe Haven, for which the Society was awarded its first major National Lottery Heritage Fund award toward its development. Previously, he was Curator of the Scottish Maritime Museum, with stints at a former local authority museum, the South Georgia Museum in the South Atlantic, and plenty of voluntary work in between.
