Mel McLaughlin

Mel is our People and Learning Manager at MGS. She works as part of the Resources team to manage the MGS staff learning and engagement opportunities and activities as well as the people processes and policies. She is passionate about creating an inclusive culture so colleagues feel engaged, enabled, motivated, and supported.

Mel champions inclusivity and wellbeing through values-led behaviours within the workplace. She is people-focused and actively seeks to work collaboratively to ensure all people initiatives are beneficial, meaningful, and have impact.

Prior to working at MGS, she has held learning and development and organisation development roles in retail, further education, and higher education. Her experience lies within onboarding, values development, culture, management development, and coaching in particular.

Outside work Mel enjoys spending time with her family and friends, musical theatre, walks along the coast, exploring historic sites and running (albeit slowly) – going to her local Parkrun as often as she can!
