Training Course Cancellation Policy

Museums Galleries Scotland (MGS) provide and organise courses for the benefit of Museums and Galleries and the wider cultural and heritage sectors. Our training programmes are not for profit and are provided at a subsidised rate.

Alteration or Cancellation of Courses

Occasionally, MGS may have to alter or cancel training courses due to circumstances outwith our control. MGS reserves the right to alter event dates, venues and locations where necessary. We will endeavour to give delegates as much notice as possible of any such change via the delegate’s email address provided at time of booking. If the delegate is unable to attend an event at the revised location or date, we will refund the course fee.

In the event that MGS has to cancel an event or training course we will provide a full refund for the course fee only.

Delegate Booking Cancellations

Museums Galleries Scotland has a 5 working day cancellation policy for all training courses. If you are booked on a training course and are unable to attend please inform us 5 working days in advance of the event and you will be eligible to receive a full refund. If you inform us after 5 working days you will not be eligible for a refund for the course you are booked on. We can however reassign your place to a colleague free of charge up to 24 hours before the course start date.

Museums Galleries Scotland understands that occasions can arise where delegates need to cancel a course booking due to unforeseen circumstances. We therefore try to be flexible in our approach to each individual case. However in some cases this may have an impact on our costs and resources (e.g. venue hire, facilitators, catering) and we must try to ensure that all parties are not disadvantaged to continue to be able to provide our training services.
