Contract Summary
MGS seeks to appoint a web developer to design and deliver a new WordPress-hosted website that will serve as an online resource hub for safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) in Scotland. This forms part of the Protection Through Connection: Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage in Scotland project, launched in March 2025 and scheduled for completion in June 2027. The project aims to enable the ‘ICH in Scotland Partnership’ (consisting of Creative Scotland, Historic Environment Scotland, Museums Galleries Scotland and Traditional Arts & Culture Scotland) to deliver funding and activities which will support the safeguarding of ICH in Scotland.
The existing ICH Scotland website (https://ichscotland.org/) has been a key platform for documenting and promoting Scotland’s ICH, sharing cultural practices and traditions with a wide audience. However, this site is now outdated in terms of information, purpose, and usability. The new site will build on this foundation to provide an enhanced user experience, more up-to-date content, and stronger community engagement.
This tender opportunity is available to Scottish-based contractors as well as those located outside of Scotland. Further details can be found in the Invitation to Tender.
