Staff at Museums Galleries Scotland (MGS) met with cultural organisations and Scottish Government figures this week at Culture Collaborating to Influence the Public on Climate Change, a Scottish National Culture for Climate (SNaCC) event organised by Creative Carbon Scotland.

Through a series of presentations and talks, attendees were encouraged to consider how the culture sector can develop public engagement strategies which inspire action on the climate crisis. Topics of discussion included sustainable travel, building trust, and recent climate-themed exhibitions organised by National Museums Scotland and the University of St Andrews.

Held at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh, the event included speakers from the Scottish Government, National Museums Scotland, Historic Environment Scotland, and Creative Carbon Scotland. It offered MGS staff valuable opportunities to build partnerships across the culture sector and expand their understanding of how museum and gallery collections can be used to raise awareness of the climate crisis.
