Skills for Success Vocational Training Programme - Evaluation

In 2020, we published a full evaluation of Skills for Success, MGS’ award-winning vocational training programme.
Skills for Success was funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund. The programme enabled non-graduate learners from a range of backgrounds to undertake a one year paid placement in museums and galleries throughout Scotland, with 22 individuals taking part.
Museums Galleries Scotland created the programme to address the need to increase diversity and give a range of voices to the sector. Increasingly, museums and galleries are recognising that traditional routes into the sector can be a barrier and this evaluation highlights that programmes like Skills for Success are key to implementing change.
