Grants Officer & Workforce for The Future Project Officer

Gabi is a part-time Grants Officer at Museums Galleries Scotland as well as a Workforce for The Future Project Officer. As Grants Officer she supports the delivery of the grants programme and assists in capturing its impact.  She works alongside her colleagues in Grants to communicate with grants applicants and recipients about their projects and ambitions. Her role includes assessing applications, monitoring the progress of funded projects, and gathering data to ensure that our funding continues to respond to the needs of the sector.

As a Workforce for The Future Project Officer, Gabi supports the delivery of a national project involving Museums and Galleries working with S1 and S2 pupils in lower Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation (SIMD) areas to provide employability skills and learn more about careers in the heritage sector. As part of the project, Gabi is helping to develop a learning resource that will be used nationally to develop skills, with the long-term aim of diversifying the workforce in museums.

Outside of MGS, Gabi is a freelance artist / arts-worker and has lots of experience of being on the other side of the funding application process. She enjoys making, thinking, and doing with other people. When she’s not working, Gabi can often be found in hardware shops, talking about plants, and/or playing video games.
