Israel Garcia

Israel has over 15 years of experience in community development, working in diverse communities in Colombia and Scotland.  Israel’s previous work has focused on working with excluded communities, including indigenous communities in Colombia, and ethnic minority groups, refugees, and asylum-seekers in Scotland.

Throughout this work, Israel has maintained a strong commitment to his core principle of anti-oppression, guiding efforts to empower communities and individuals for positive socio-economic transformations, fostering inclusivity, and advocating for social and environmental justice.

In his role at MGS as Communities Co-ordinator, Israel works with community groups and organisations, supporting them throughout their engagement with the Delivering Change programme.

Outside of work, Israel enjoys spending time outdoors by walking in the woods or growing vegetables and berries with his partner in their organic garden. Israel also has a passion for spirituality and supporting others on their healing journeys through Reiki, Sekhem, and meditation.
