Rhona Arthur

Rhona has recently retired as Head of Connected Communities at North Ayrshire Council. She was Senior Manager (Information and Culture) at North Ayrshire Council from 2012 with responsibility for the heritage service and two museums, as well as working with community heritage groups.  

Rhona has an in-depth knowledge of local government and, as a former Chief Officer, has experience of strategic planning, and people, financial and risk management. Her recent work focused on addressing poverty and inequalities, community planning, locality planning, community learning and development and cultural services. She is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals and has considerable experience of working with local authorities, other organisations, and with individuals from her previous role as Assistant Director with SLIC. Rhona is on the Board of the Scottish Football Museum. She has held a number of other roles including External Examiner with the Robert Gordon University, and mentor for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals.
